Why Create A Website?

Why Would You Want To Create A Website?

There are a variety of reasons why you might want to create a website. Many people want to provide an informational resource that they hope will help people who have similar interests to themselves. Their experience and knowledge guide the creation of helpful content. Other people simply enjoy writing and some use blogs as an outlet for their creative expression.

Yet others create websites to make money.

Some people start a website for one reason, discover that there is an interest and a demand for the content they publish and then discover that they can monetise it.

Making money with your website is an interesting topic and should warrant a section all of its own.

Whatever your reason for wanting to start a website, you shouldn't be thwarted by lack of information. And indeed, there is a lot of information available on the internet that will help you with individual problems you might have. What I hope to create with this series of tutorials is a comprehensive guide from start to finish that will teach you each step in creating and running your own website.

It may come as a surprise to learn that many webmasters are serial publishers and own whole portfolios of websites. There is nothing stopping you from creating as many websites as you want. And with each one, you will learn more and your process will become more streamlined. Just to give you an example that I hope will inspire you, one of my friends owns over 200 websites and manages them as a business. They all earn revenue for him and add up to a very impressive salary. He's semi retired and the sites he runs require almost no input from him. This is called passive income: he does nothing and the money rolls in!

Does that sound like fun?
